Debbi Voisey
Debbi is a full-time, writer, writing tutor and mentor. She writes flash fictions, short stories, and novels. She has had her words published in several places online and in print (including Ad Hoc, The Bath Short Story Award, The Daily Drunk, Ellipsis, Flash Fiction Festival Anthologies, National Flash Fiction Day, Paragraph Planet, Reflex, Litro, Storgy, Visual Verse, The Phare – and a short-story machine at Edmonton Airport in Canada). She has been longlisted and shortlisted in several competitions, including Bath Short Story Award, Flash 500, and Reflex Fiction. She had two novellas-in-flash published in 2021, Only About Love, with Fairlight Books and The 10:25 with Flash: The International Short-Short Story Press. The former was shortlisted for the Arnold Bennett Prize in 2022 and was recently the book club choice for the Alzheimer’s Society. The latter was shortlisted in the Bath Novella-in-Flash Award.
As well as running her own online writing workshops and courses, Debbi works for Retreat West - hosting workshops and writing sessions and providing some feedback on stories – and can be found regularly working in the bookshop at the yearly Flash Fiction Festival in Bristol. She runs a quarterly “Writers Reading” event on Zoom, which is free and open to anyone, and has a “Time to Write” club which, for a yearly subscription, provides up to 14 Zoom sessions per week for its members.
