Nick Cracknell
My name is Nick Cracknell, I'm 45 and I live in Devon by the sea. I grew up in Northern Ireland but moved to England in my teens.
I'm a voice actor by profession and have narrated over 80 audiobooks. I've also been a music journalist and a building surveyor, but writing is my main passion.
I got interested in psychological thrillers through reading novels like Gone Girl, The Family Upstairs and the works of Daniel Hurst. I was specifically inspired by Daniel as he only became a full-time writer three years ago yet already has so many titles available.
So I set myself a challenge of writing a psych thriller in two weeks. Shallow Cracks is my first go at it, and I wrote it over twelve days in May and June of this year. I was surprised how quickly it came together, but then many of the events and characters within (apart from the murders) are actually inspired by my own life. I won't tell you which bits...
