Leah Soltis
Leah Soltis is midway through her 40s and is still learning what she wants to be when she grows up. Her career has taken her from an international technology company to the Charleston Literary Festival, which she helped grow into the preeminent festival of books and ideas in the south eastern United States. These days she can be found raising funds for a local non-profit dedicated to improving lives for families in the towns and cities surrounding her.
With a degree in English Literature, words and stories have always held a huge place in Leah’s heart. A professional freelance magazine writer for over a decade, she finds human beings endlessly fascinating and knows that, in any good story, the bad guys are never the monsters. They’re always the people. She’s grateful for her father, who raised her on classic horror and sci-fi movies, and her mother, who always has another book to recommend. They instilled in her a love for her own imagination—what more can any girl need?
Leah lives just north of Charleston, South Carolina, with her very handsome partner, her brilliant teenage child, a wise old Schnauzer, an annoying cat, and the weirdest pitbull in the world. She wouldn’t have it any other way.
