Robert Devine

Born a Yorkshireman, Robert Devine married now lives with his wife on the edge of the Saddleworth moors on the north-eastern outskirts of Manchester. Almost totally deaf, he prefers reading to modern television. He enjoys a one-megaton sense of humour, often self-deprecating, just as often laced with cynicism. He is diabetic and suffers slight arthritis, which he blames on having moved from Yorkshire to Manchester.

He is a full time writer with a large body of work under various pen names. He produces dark, character-driven crime thrillers which examine not only the crimes but the fluctuating relationships between the people charged with solving them.

He also produces, edits and posts occasional video blogs.

A workaholic, his wife often accuses him of being married to the word processor rather than her. When not working, he and his wife enjoy short breaks on the Yorkshire or Lincolnshire coast, with occasional, longer forays to the Canary Islands or the Spanish Costas.
